Knitwear No. 09 – Lavender Patchwork Garden
A one-of-a-kind handmade sweater built from a rich mix of crochet textures, patchwork motifs and softly muted colours. The sweater brings together lavender, dusty pink, taupe, cream, olive, burgundy, turquoise and yellow in an intentionally eclectic composition.
The front and back feature completely different arrangements of crocheted and knitted patches. Floral motifs, geometric squares, textured stitches and colourful details are layered across the sweater, creating the feeling of a handmade textile collage assembled piece by piece.
The lavender base gives the sweater a gentle, cohesive feel, while the contrasting colours and textures keep the design playful and unexpected. Small crocheted flowers appear throughout the composition, mixed with striped, ribbed, openwork and multicoloured sections.
The sleeves continue the patchwork approach rather than simply repeating the body design. Different panels, textures and colours come together along the arms, giving the sweater an especially expressive, handcrafted character.
The result is less like a traditional patterned sweater and more like a wearable piece of textile art — colourful, nostalgic and completely individual. No two sections are quite the same, and every detail has been handmade.
